Why did we decide to formulate our products with Canadian Glacial Clay?

We believe that only all natural ingredients should be put into our products, and Canadian Glacial Clay is the perfect ingredient which can be used in many different applications.  It can be used as a stand-alone mask or formulated with other ingredients to produce high quality cosmetic formulations.

 The processes used for harvesting and producing Canadian Glacial Clay are environmentally sustainable methods that include hand harvesting & solar drying while processing this magical healing clay. The clay deposits originate from an active glacier located in a pristine area on the west coast of Canada. Glacial run off deposits these precious minerals into a pristine estuary, energizing the ultrafine clay particles with a strong negative charge that helps bind bacteria and toxins.

This unique marine mineral rich clay is both nourishing and detoxifying when applied to the skin. Unlike any other clay, the Marine nutrients combine with over 50 essential trace minerals to create this magical healing clay that has an average particle size of 20 microns. This powerful combination of minerals, negative charge & marine nutrients produce skin product formulations that are highly effective and extremely stable with no odor.

Several factors combine to give Canadian Glacial Clay its unique qualities.

  • First, the source of the clay comes from ancient volcanic mountain ranges that produced large volumes of Montmorillonites and Illites clay. These clays are known for high absorbency and stronger cation exchange capacities for absorbing active ingredients and binding to them to produce stable clay masks and formulations.
  • Secondly, active glaciers and icefields feed the clay particles down long stream and river systems and through electrolysis, the clay particles become negatively charged. This strong negative charge binds with the active ingredients of formulas to produce stable products that also bind to positively charged toxins and bacteria when applied to the skin.
  • Third, and just as important is that Canadian Glacial clay has an ultrafine particle size, which translates to larger surface areas to absorb active ingredients.
